LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- On this Throwback Thursday, we take a look inside Peoples National Bank in the 1920s.
Left to right in the above image are G.B. Gallaher, Walker Cusick and David Reynolds.
Gallaher served as president of the bank until his death in 1963. Cusick was the assistant cashier. Reynolds was one of the bank’s founders and was an original member of the bank’s board of directors.
Reynolds served as cashier from the time of the bank’s 1917 founding until his death in 1954.
This building was also the building that housed Lafollette’s first bank, Lafollette State Bank. The building in the above photo was razed in late 1959 to make way for the new Peoples National Bank building that opened in 1960. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-09/03/2026-6AM)
