Six nonprofits to receive Opioid Abatement funds

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- At Monday’s County Commission Workshop, commissioners were addressed by Nathan Smiddy, the Chairman of the Campbell County Coalition of Recovery Resources C.O.R.R. regarding the distribution of Opioid abatement funds. The commission will vote on the release of these funds at next Monday’s commission meeting.

Opioid abatement funds are the state and local pools of money created from billions in national opioid settlement agreements with opioid manufacturers, distributors, and pharmacy chains.

The commission also received a letter from C.O.R.R. stating that six non-profit organizations would be receiving funds out of the $185,315.65 Opioid Abatement Fund. In total, nine organizations applied for funds.

Non-profit organizations receiving funds listed include:

Springs of Life, which will receive $50,000

Bridges to Recovery which will receive $49,800

Campbell United $13,330

Pinnacle $30,300

Redemptive Automotive $10,000

Campbell County Boys and Girls Club $31,885.65

According to the letter, each of these organizations comply with the requirements set forth by the Tennessee Opioid Abatement Council. Each recipient will also be required to submit and amended budget for this amount, which will be used for reporting purpose with the state. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-09/16/2026-6AM)
