The THP report said the Ford was traveling westbound on Stiner Hwy and initiated a left turn to go onto Middlesboro Road while the Nissan was headed east near the same intersection. That’s when the THP states that the pick-up truck failed to yield to the sedan, and the Nissan struck the Ford on the right side. Both vehicles came to a rest in the roadway.

This wreck was the second at the same intersection within three days.

The Ford was driven by a 17-year- old who was charged with failure to yield right of way. Allen Shepherd, 57, was behind the wheel of the Nissan. Shepherd was injured, the teen was not.

The teen was wearing a seat belt, Shepherd was not, according to the THP report. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-09/03/2026-6AM)
